Principal of Axis Worldwide

As Principal of Axis Worldwide, Chris Margiotta oversees an experienced staff with his unique mix of business development and operational experience that spans over 28 years in the industry. He leads a staff of division directors, project managers and project coordinators within the corporate office and throughout our regional offices.

Chris manages all aspects of the hospitality and industrial logistics divisions relating to operational processes and technology within our diverse domestic and international projects. His work is a direct culmination of a lifetime in direct operations constantly evaluating processes and defining the ideal sophisticated niche logistics provider we have become.

In 2008, his dream was to separate the industrial and hospitality divisions and focus on delivering excellent customer service for all segments relating to project management, FF&E freight management, warehouse and installation.

Some of his new construction and renovation projects include Hard Rock Hotels & Casinos, Starwood, Hyatt and Hilton Hotels. Other projects included over 400 mixed hotel, casino, restaurant, and retail projects globally.

Dan has been coordinating domestic LTL and TL operations since 2004 and brings his experience and knowledge of freight systems to his clients. In addition to analyzing carrier pricing, he manages the daily operations of many of the domestic clients of Axis.

Dan plays a pivotal role at Axis in daily operations. His wealth of knowledge in the industry and carrier relationships, allows Dan to schedule the optimal logistics solution for each shipment he manages.

Jacob is a highly motivated sales associate who gained extensive customer service and sales experience while working as a “Team Lead” at Bass Pro Shops. His role as a domestic logistics coordinator managing our diverse group of clients freight needs is an area he has excelled at.  Currently Jacob works directly in our domestic truckload and LTL operations department which has proven to be a promising transition for him. Jacob attended Missouri State University in Springfield, MO studying criminal justice while maintaining his interest in the supply chain logistics field. We are proud to have him as part of our growing team and look forward to his progression in the domestic and international freight forwarding industry.

Kimberly brings over 24 years of experience in the logistics industry and has been with Axis throughout its growth. She handles sales and operations for her clients and specializes in truckloads, power only, and expedite shipments.

She has maintained customers throughout her career due to her knowledge of the industry, network and amazing customer service.

Kimberly goes above and beyond for her customers and she excels in understanding each client’s needs.

With more than 23 years in the transportation industry, Christine now focuses her talents in human resources collaborating with our CFO and HR department to ensure all employee policies and procedures comply with local, state, and federal laws. Since the beginning of her career, Christine has embraced the philosophies that people are what truly matters in a company and that you should always treat others as you expect to be treated. These principles are the tenets that have allowed Axis to create a working environment which encourages a high level of employee engagement and productivity, resulting not only in exceptional employee relations but world-class customer service.

International Operations Manager

Chris Rowland brings over 40 years of experience in international logistics and transportation sectors. He expertly manages a team of export agents in working with international freight forwarders, manufacturers, importers, air and ocean carriers and international banks.

Chris was instrumental in establishing a preferred carrier program which streamlined operations and stabilized freight costs for international shipments.

He continues to find ways to improve our quote accuracy, efficiency and response times for our clients.

Meet Alex Creech, a global freight forwarding agent – coordinator here at Axis Worldwide Supply Chain & Logistics, Inc. Alex brings his years of experience working directly in our international air and ocean import – export department managing our daily shipments working in tandem with our director of international.  Alex has been working in the logistics industry for over 7 years in various roles which started at UPS leading into the international 3PL sector honing his skills as an international import coordinator. His professional duties include developing international import – export processes and documentation while assisting our clients with all of their international shipping needs. Alex obtained his associates degree in Biology from the Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, Illinois.

Nicole Lane

Nicole Lane

CFO

Nicole Lane brings over 20 years of experience in accounting and finance. She is a graduate of University of Missouri, St. Louis.

In addition, Nicole worked over 10 years in public accounting. Her role at Axis Worldwide is to oversee accounting and finance operations, as well as developing and maintaining the financial reporting systems.

In addition to her responsibilities with accounting and finance she is also a member of the executive team at Axis Worldwide. In this role Nicole assists Chris in developing corporate policies, strategic business planning, and staffing.

Janice Hahne

Accounting Assistant to the CFO

Janice received her Bachelor’s degree from Liberty University and brings with her the skillset and knowledge of accounting spanning nearly 20 years working in various roles of human resource and management. Her personality, work ethics and attention to detail are all key attributes that she brings to our company while working directly in tandem with our CFO. Janice shares the same passion and interest working for a logistics company as the rest of her teammates possess. We are excited to have her be a part of our organization.

Accounting Manager – Hospitality

Laura brings over 20 years of experience in customer service and 10 years in Small Business Accounting, she assists the operations team daily in the processing of carrier cost, customer billing and helps to resolve accessorial issues as well as Accounting duties.

Laura is a Graduate of Lindenwood University, with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a minor in Accounting.

Anthony Godinez

Terminal Manager, Calexico

Anthony extends the reach and service of Axis as the Terminal Manager at the Axis warehouse location in Calexico, CA. Anthony has over 30 years of experience in the logistics industry and his expertise ranges from operations, business development and customs regulations in Mexico.

He plays a pivotal role for Axis clients that import and export to Mexico. He was instrumental in acquiring one of the first bonded warehouse facilities in Calexico.

Anthony and his team solidify broker relationships, operate cross dock services and provide solutions for clients in Mexico and the U.S.

Kathy Slater

Domestic Expedited Operations Manager

Kathy is a veteran in logistics with over 35 years of experience. She has worked in all facets of the industry from government logistics, inventory management, operations management and time sensitive logistics operations.

She obtains solid experience in domestic transportation guidelines and regulations and is able to collaborate with freight forwarders and custom brokers to ensure delivery requirements are met. Kathy succeeds everyday at negotiated costs, spot bids and executing. She is very experienced in several technology programs such as NLMI, Active Aero, and Ryder Logistics LMS systems.

Javier is a results-driven efficient warehouse manager overseeing our U.S. Customs bonded distribution center located in Calexico/Mexicali. Adept at implementing and managing inventory audits/cycle counts while overseeing our cross-dock operations along with the daily loading – unloading of a variety of carriers are all examples of his ability to multitask. Javier has been a stellar loyal employee of Axis Worldwide since our inception back in 1997. His ability to manage our distribution center servicing all of our trucking, expedite and warehouse inventory needs has been incredible to say the least. The Calexico team is a solid group of individuals whom have remained loyal to our company since the beginning

Operations Manager, Calexico

Jorge manages the distribution systems at the Calexico office and warehouse and ensures the efficiency of operations for air freight, warehouse logistics, and expedite ground shipments. In addition, he is a TSA Security Coordinator and has profound knowledge of the requirements and regulations of TSA.

Jorge has sound knowledge of industry standards and provides solutions everyday on carrier utilization and cost analysis for each client.

Domestic Operations Coordinator

Nick provides daily support in domestic operations and is responsible for LTL quotes, tracking and tracing shipments, assisting in customer service, coordinating pickups, and ensuring that our client’s freight is moving according to schedule.

He works closely with the Operations teams to troubleshoot issues and provide solutions and is well versed in handling the logistics of many different commodities.

After studying business communication and commercial music at Belmont University – graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree, Zachary worked within the hospitality industry and later as a facilities technician. Analytically and creatively driven, Zachary is a technician and musician instructor with a strong work ethic in problem solving – computer skills and customer service. Working in the logistics industry is a perfect fit for Zach which enables him to continue to balance a variety of responsibilities and meet new challenges. His hard work, determination and willingness to learn new skills in the logistics industry are what make him a valued member of our team

Jennifer Bonelli

Director of Interior Design

As Axis Hospitality’s Director of Design, Jennifer Bonelli brings extensive experience in commercial and hospitality interior design to Axis Hospitality.

With a passion for creating engaging interiors, Jennifer attended the esteemed New York School of Interior Design’s CIDA-Accredited Master of Fine Arts Program, and also holds a Bachelor of Arts from Bucknell University in Economics.

Her first career was on Wall Street where she worked in private wealth and the real estate investment management division of asset management at a prominent Investment Bank. This unique background and mindset allows her to consider each design decision in terms of return on her client’s investments.

Jennifer began her true design career at highly imaginative New World Design Builders. Memorable projects there include her design work for celebrity hot spot restaurant CATCH L.A. as well as the revamp of Gansevoort Hotel Group Properties in New York.

She then took the opportunity to join award winning Jeffrey Beers International in their New York City office. There she honed her skills working with the industry’s very best and became a lead designer on everything from large scale entertainment complexes, cruise ships, casinos, hotels, and signature restaurants, working for clients such as Disney, Marriott, Hard Rock and a number of celebrity chefs.

When Jennifer relocated to the Southeast, she joined the Charleston, South Carolina office of McMillan Pazdan Smith Architecture. Notable projects there include her work on The Cooper, Charleston’s soon to be newest luxury waterfront hotel and Wild Dunes Resort. She then led the interior design for Kempton of Charleston, a new luxury retirement community and was tapped to design several lobbies for mixed-use developments. Jennifer also touched historic preservation projects along downtown Charleston’s most iconic streets during her time designing high-end residential and condominium projects.

During her first year with Axis Hospitality, Jennifer single handedly completed designs for Hotel Iris in Boston, a luxury four star boutique hotel, and The Garden Hotel & Resort in Ft Lauderdale. Currently, her team is re-envisioning a South Beach Miami Hotel on Collins Avenue, completing the design of 550 E. Lincoln – a high end multi-family project in Phoenix, working on Arkhaus – a luxury yacht club experience – and has joined forces with a major hotel brand in the midwest for renovations of their hotel portfolio.

Jennifer draws on her vast design experience as she works hand in hand with clients, architects, contractors, property managers, brand executives, owners and investors to deliver an exceptional experience and visionary design.

Jessica Yu

Senior Project Manager

Jessica Yu, a seasoned Project Manager and Interior Designer, holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design from Parsons the New School for Design.

With an extensive background spanning roles at HOK, DOMIO, rag & bone, Jeffrey Beers International, O’Neil Langan Architects PC, and Horowitz Architects PC, Jessica has honed her skills in project management, design development, and brand innovation across luxury commercial interior, retail, and hospitality projects.

She is committed to excellence and innovation bringing with her knowledge in best practices to enhance workflow procedures and excels at project management playing a vital role in successful delivery of on-time, on-budget project completion.

Der Sean Chou

Senior Interior Designer

Der Sean Chou is an NCIDQ certified Interior Designer and earned his Master of Science degree in Interior Design from Pratt Institute. He has also taught at three prestigious design schools in New York: Pratt, Parsons, and the School of Visual Arts and remains as faculty at Pratt Institute and School of Visual Arts teaching design and Inspiring future interior designers.

Der Sean has worked on a diverse portfolio of residential, multi-family and hospitality interior design projects from around the world and has worked in senior design positions at Jeffery Beers International and Stonehill Taylor in New York City.

With an eye for precision and a background in film and IT, he has become an expert in the many digital creation programs used in the design process. He is forward-thinking and works collaboratively to create spaces the reflect each client’s identity while ensuring they reflect the value of good design.

Working for brands including One&Only, Waldorf Astoria, Equinox, Atlantis, and Omni, he has developed agility working with rigorous brand standards to ensure flawless execution of each project.

Hannah Sears

Hannah Sears graduated from The College of Charleston, S.C. where she majored in Commercial Real Estate Finance and is currently attending the Charleston School of Design.

Born and raised in Florida, Hannah has been immersed in the process of design and construction since her first steps watching her father, a general contractor, construct custom homes and commercial properties.

Hannah found her niche combining her background in real estate and finance with her passion for design while working for Luxury Simplified Retreats in Charleston, SC. There she started as a property operations manager and led sales initiatives to grow and expand their interior design services. She has designed and overseen the renovations on many of their portfolio’s beautiful properties across the low country of South Carolina.

Director of Purchasing & Procurement

Lauren Stringer, the Director of Procurement, brings to Axis Hospitality over 11 years in the FF&E/OS&E Hospitality Procurement Industry.  With her background in Interior Design, she is able to understand each aspect of the project from start to finish.  She works with each client to ensure strong communication and project transparency throughout the entire procurement process. The success of each projects is marked by her excellent organizational skills and high level of detail.  Lauren has extensive experience in branded and boutique hotels as well as, Multifamily, Senior Living, Restaurants, and Student Housing.

Sabina Holguin

Sabina Holguin experience as a Procurement Project Manager in hospitality extends beyond 7 years working directly in the FF&E/OS&E industry. Sabina has a strong understanding of the critical components needed to execute a successful project and knows that effective communication and collaboration with clients, vendors, and team members alike, is key. She is skilled in negotiations, logistics, management, process improvement and has a deep passion for the Interior Design industry. Her cooperative approach has led to developing strong client and vendor relationships. She has extensive knowledge of collaborating with branded and boutique hotels, timeshare developments and restaurants.

Maricel Pelayo

Maricel Pelayo has over 8 years of experience working on a variety of projects ranging from hotels, restaurants, lounges, casinos, senior living, and multi-family properties all throughout the country. Along with her direct FF&E and OS&E purchasing experience, she has a proven record of providing excellent project management while ensuring customer satisfaction. Maricel is a motivated and results driven professional who takes projects from initial concept design to project completion with confidence. A graduate of the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Health Science in addition to her Associate of Applied Science in Architectural Design Technology – Interior Design from the College of Southern Nevada, Las Vegas.

Jacqueline Ivancic graduated Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri with a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts Degree in Fashion Design and Product Development along side a Minor in Business Marketing.

She has a proven track record in running a successful business with the lauch of a highly successful boutique retail store right after college in Chesterfield, MO.

There she organized, performed, and maintained all buying operations and vendor relationships as well as managing all business and finance operations while prioritizing purchases, marketing, and client experience.

She brings this outstanding skillset to work everyday for Axis Hospitality’s Procurement team.

Aimee Kempfer excels with over 10 years of experience in hospitality FF&E and OS&E management.

With team leadership experience as a softball player and coach, she has been able to drive a team of project managers and coordinators since 2013 to exemplary customer service.

Her strong desire to consistently maintain the highest customer service for every client and the resulting customer relationships has propelled her team to growth of over 100 projects. In addition, Aimee’s ability to maintain budgets keeps the client on target.

Alyssa Margiotta graduated the University of Missouri- Columbia in 2013 and is a Project Manager here at Axis Hospitality.

She has mastered the niche of coordinating logistics for hospitality specific projects and has developed excellent client relationships.

Our clients know she is passionate about doing a job well done and she strives to go above and beyond the client’s expectations. She has grown up with the logistics in her blood as she is also Axis Hospitality’s owner, Chris Margiotta’s daughter.

Alyssa takes great pride in working at a family business and truly manages each project at heart.

Hunter has been a wonderful addition to our hospitality project management team working under the senior direction of Rebecca Campbell and Alyssa Margiotta. Hunters’ ability and technical skills allow him to quickly adapt while honing his skills in warehouse project management, logistics, inventory management and customer service.  Hunter received his associates degree from St. Charles Community College and is working towards his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Southern New Hampshire University.  Holding the position of a hospitality warehouse project manager can be a challenging yet rewarding career full of constant change and challenges. Jon Bartholomew

VP of Axis Digital

Jon is a graduate from the University of Missouri – Columbia and brings with him nearly 20 years of experience in the Hospitality industry working formerly as a CFO and Operations Manager for a highly respected TV Installation company here in St. Louis. As VP of Operations through the new vertical of “Axis Digital,” Jon will be responsible for fostering those relationships with TV Manufacturers, Management companies, Hotel Flags, and Resellers alike. The message from Axis Digital will be clear, deliver an ongoing professional, turnkey TV and Appliance installations in the Hospitality field. Through our team of experienced, certified installers and programmers, we will continue to service all our accounts with precision, forethought, and expertise to make each project as painless and carefree for our hotel management clients and their guests. Jon will be able to draw on his relationships and many years in the industry to assure that Axis Worldwide is able to continue its excellent reputation in the hospitality interior design, FF&E procurement, logistics sector combining synergies and experience with professional TV installation and programming along with large and small appliance installations. Jon’s ability to ask the pertinent question, analyze the hotel logistics, and plan for a successful project will be key in the operation of this division. The goal is to be the only resource a reseller, end user, or distributor will need when it comes to the functionality, installation, and programming of a variety of TV brands. Jon will always be there to answer questions, find solutions, or give his professional opinion on what might be the best course for a hotelier. Jon is a positive individual looking forward to continued success in a vastly ever changing hospitality industry.

Austin Lawrence

Austin is a graduate of Lakeland College with a degree in Business. An active two sport athlete in college, Austin was also a Captain on the football team where he began his knack for perseverance, teamwork, and handling things the right way. Austin believes strongly in the motto of “Success is no secret. It is the result of preparation, hard work and constantly finding solutions to new challenges.” It is these traits that have made him an excellent leader for the Axis Digital team. He has successfully handled a multitude of projects from coast to coast always putting the needs of the property and team members ahead of his own. He is a tireless worker that will make sure the scope and needs of the project are always handled in a professional and meticulous way. His communication skills help to pave the way for his co-workers, guests and Hoteliers alike.

Jodi Blaker, the Director of Design for Axis Hospitality has over 12 years of experience in the Hospitality Field working with Branded and Boutique hotels alike. She has a drive and passion to create a lasting impression working closely with clients to make their vision a reality. As a forward thinker Jodi keeps appraised of Industry trends and developments bringing creativity and vivid expression always with the utmost attention to detail.

Jodi and her team work hand and hand with clients, architects, contractors, property managers as well as brand executives to ensure the outstanding finalization of each and every project.

Heather Schieferle brings over 8 years of experience to Axis in freight management and warehousing. She has a natural confidence in her abilities to ensure that every shipment in each project is on time with project schedules and consistent with the project’s budget.

Her managerial skills help her team to stay organized, motivated, and supported every day. She expertly plans each shipment using the best logistics solutions for the client and can handle any logistics challenge thrown her way. Jerry assists the operations department in many areas such as LTL tracking and tracing, scheduling pick-ups, and making sure our customer’s shipments are on schedule. In addition, he also assists in freight auditing and billing. Jerry’s expertise extends into freight classifications in which he educates our customers on their commodities and shipping class. His years of experience in customer service have added priceless value to our team. Jerry received his Associates of Arts Degree from Forest Park – St. Louis Community College and is currently working on his Bachelors in Business Administration.

Erin has over 12 years’ experience in customer service and studied Mass Communications at Lindenwood University. She supports our team in many different areas, from LTL/ truckload tracking and tracing to carrier rate negotiations. Erin is responsible for scheduling pickups, quoting rates to our customers, as well as providing our customers with the best options to fit their transportation needs. Her impeccable customer service skills shine to every customer she interacts with. When they work with Erin they understand the shipment will not only happen, but will be followed through until delivered.

Vice President Director of Domestic Operations

Tom Harris has been in the transportation and logistics industry for over 25 years. Tom was formally the owner of an asset based transportation company and managed operations for many clients.

Tom expertly leads our domestic team at headquarters in St. Louis. From managing his team and instilling exemplary customer service he also works with customers in carrier price negotiation. He thrives on reaching out to new clients and analyzing competitor logistics programs to help current and potential clients reduce their costs and alleviate inefficiencies in their supply chains.

Tom manages a team of experts in every area of logistics, including LTL, Truckload, and Expedite. Tom’s team can take any freight issue and scenario and turn it into a success.
